ZINC CHROMATE YELLOW PRIMER PD A151
Rock fort Zinc Chromate Yellow Primer is a quick drying highly effective rust preventing primer based on modified Alkyd resin pigmented with Zinc chromate. It meets the performance requirement of Indian standard specification IS 104, It is mainly used as a general purpose primer for the protection on Aluminium, light alloys, mild steel, gal vanished iron surfaces in moderately corrosive atmosphere in exterior and interior environment. It can also be used for priming structural steel, bridge, metal roof and storage tank in moderate chemical environment.
TECHNICAL DATA:-
Finish : Smooth and Matt
Colour : Yellow
Consistency : 100 + 5 sec in ford cup number 4
Drying time : Surface dry 30 minutes
Hard dry over night
Recoating : After 12 hours finish coat can be applied, normally no sanding required but light scuffing to remove surface dust.
Coverage : By brush : 17 to 20 m2 per Ltr per coat
By spray : 13 to 16 m2 per Ltr per coat
SURFACE PREPARAION:-
For hot rolled mild steel sheet mild abrasion to remove rust, mile scale etc., Surface can be treated with appropriate pretreatment chemical to give corrosion resistance surface. Solvent wipe or detergent solution wipe can be used to remove grease, oil and etc., same treatment can be followed for Aluminium alloys, Galvanized iron.
APPLICATION METHODS, DETAILS, CONDITION:-
Rockfort Zinc Chromate Yellow Primer is supplied in a uniform consistency suitable for application by brushing without appreciable drag on the brush; it can also be sprayed by thinning with Rockfort enamel thinner ET-101 up to 20%. Dry film thickness of 20 to 25 microns is indicated film thickness to give a proper adhesion and corrosion inhibition.
PACKING: -20, 4 ltr
SAFETY: - Avoid contact with skin and eyes and exposure to naked light.
Provide good ventilation during spraying and drying.

It meets the performance requirements of Indian standard specification IS 2074, It is mainly used as a general purpose primer for the protection of Aluminium, light alloys, mild steel, galvanized iron surfaces in moderately corrosive atmosphere in exterior and interior environment.
